Formicary Ltd, an IT consultancy firm specialising in providing solutions for the financial services industry, has accepted an invitation to speak tomorrow at the Java in Action conference hosted by TheSeverSide.com. The conference aims to provide ‘an intimate environment that's ideal for absorbing practical knowledge and sharing tips and advice on how to avoid development pitfalls.'
As part of the technical sessions, Formicary's Christopher Pearson and Philip Miller have been asked to speak on ‘Practical JMS'. The talk will focus on enterprise usage of JMS, first covering the basics and then leading on to a discussion on the prevalence of JMS in the enterprise market and the need to integrate with existing infrastructures. Once usage patterns have been discussed, the bulk of the session will then focus on a practical approach to JMS providers.
The discussion will be vendor-neutral and will cover of a number of common and popular providers, from well-established industry heavyweights, like MQSeries, through to lesser-known vendors and also a number of open source offerings. The merits and pitfalls of each will then be discussed and Christopher and Philip will offer advice on how to ensure that JMS applications will smoothly survive the transition from one provider to another.
