One of Formicary's core strengths has always been its strong Java team, with strong experience in all aspects of Java development, from Java EE through to desktop applications and rich internet apps (RIA) and even mobile Java. Our core team has been involved with Java since the very early betas, and our commitment and involvement with the platform has manifested itself in active participation in the platform by our CTO, Hani Suleiman.
Hani is one of two elected individual members of the Execute Committee of the JCP. The JCP is responsible for defining the future of the Java platform, voting on and approval new Java Specification Requests (JSRs). As well as serving on the EC, Formicary was also actively involved in a number of past and current JSRs, including Java EE (5 and 6), JSP 1.2, and the portlet JSRs.
Formicary is also a strong believer in testing as a practical tool. We don't advocate test driven development at the expense of business needs. Our solutions will always place the business' requirements at the highest priority. Some of our pragmatic testing solutions are captured in the Next Generation Java Testing book that many of Formicary's staff helped with, providing real life scenarios and solutions. The book highlights many of our testing practices as they apply to the pressures of delivering well tested code on time in today's enterprise environment.
Formicary's Java team has the proven track record to deliver any Java based solution on time and on budget, working closely with the business to define technical solutions that will withstand the test of time, using modern methodologies with a highly iterative cycle incorporating testing and quality control processes throughout the development cycle.
